Emirates has been advised of additional security regulations for customers flying to the United States, United Kingdom and Canada. The enhanced security measure requires customers with any electronic or battery powered devices (mobile telephones, tablets, e-books, laptops, etc.) in cabin baggage to turn on their device in front of security teams and/or demonstrate the item’s functionality at Dubai International Airport prior to boarding their flight to USA, Canada and UK. In case customers are not able to demonstrate that their device has power, they will not be
allowed to fly on their planned service. Kindly inform front line staff on above mandatory security regulation implemented at Dubai. Emirates website has also been updated with this information.

Customers transiting Dubai Airport – Liquids, Aerosols and Gels (LAGs) and Security Tamper-Evident Bags (STEBS) in Cabin Baggage Restrictions
Customers transiting Dubai are required to undergo security checks during transit and items exceeding the limits will be confiscated by Airport Police.

All liquids, gels and aerosols, pastes, lotions, creams, drinks and other items of similar consistency must be in containers with a capacity no greater than 100ml. Those carried in containers larger than 100ml will not be accepted, even if the container is only part-filled. These containers must be placed in a transparent re-sealable plastic bag of a maximum capacity not exceeding onelitre (1L). Larger bags or bags that are non-sealable, such as fold-over sandwich bags, are not allowed.

The containers must fit comfortably within the transparent plastic bag, which is to be completely closed. The plastic bag is to be presented for visual examination at the screening point. Only one transparent plastic bag per passenger will be permitted. Exemptions will be made for medications, baby milk / foods and special dietary requirements. LAGs in any volume, purchased at airport retail outlets (e.g. Dubai Duty Free) or on board the aircraft, will not be allowed
through security screening points, unless they are carried in a Security Tamper-Evident Bag (STEB).
