Let’s explore Macao with CIT, an autonomous region on the south coast of China, across the Pearl River Delta from Hong Kong. A Portuguese territory until 1999, it reflects a mix of cultural influences. Its giant casinos and malls on the Cotai Strip, which joins the islands of Taipa and Coloane, have earned it the nickname, “Las Vegas of Asia.” One of its more striking landmarks is 338m-high Macao Tower, with sweeping city views.

Macao is justly famous on gaming market, but the reality is the city has much more to offer. Macao also offers a rich cultural and historical experience. Ancient Chinese temples sit on streets paved with traditional Portuguese tiles, the city is full with dazzlingly mash-up of Chinese and Portugal building. A short walk from the Mandarin, visitors will find themselves immersed in the Historic Centre of Macau, with architectural and religious landmarks all around.

With rich cultural history, Macao celebrate its unique festival culture events all year round. These including such traditional Chinese celebrations as Lunar New Year, Feast of the God Tou Tei, the Tun Ng Festival (Dragon Boat Festival) as well as the important Western festivals of Easter, Procession of our Lady of Fátima, and Christmas. There are also huge contemporary events such as Annual Macao International Fireworks Display Contest, Macao International Music Festival, Macao International Parade, Macau Grand Prix and more.
