Day 01 - Taipei Arrival / Check-in

Taipei – Sun Moon Lake

On the first morning of your Taiwan round the island tour, you will depart from central Taipei and travel to the heart of the island, Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area.
Your Taiwan journey begins with a visit to Sun Moon Lake, the island’s largest freshwater lake, named for its sun- and moon-shaped sides. Home to the indigenous Thao people, the area blends natural beauty with rich culture. Enjoy a scenic tour with stops at Ita Thao Village, Ci’en Pagoda, and the temples of Xuanzang and Wenwu, gaining insight into the lake’s history and spiritual heritage.

Day 02 - Sun Moon Lake - Tainan - Kaohsiung

Start day two of your Taiwan adventure with a hearty breakfast before heading to Tainan, the island’s oldest city, rich in historical charm. Visit Fort Zeelandia, built by the Dutch and later rebuilt by the Japanese, followed by a stroll along Anping Old Street, Taiwan’s first official street, known for its heritage and tasty local treats like tofu pudding and shrimp rolls. After lunch (lunch not included), continue to Kaohsiung, southern Taiwan’s largest city. Explore the serene Fo Guang Shan Monastery, home to the towering 36-meter Buddha Amitabha statue and 480 smaller figures.

Day 03 - Kaohsiung - Kenting - Taitung

Continue your scenic drive along the South Link Highway to Zhiben, Taitung, where you’ll unwind at Hotel Royal Chihpen, famous for its soothing carbonate hot springs – perfect for relaxing after a day of discovery.

Day 04 - Taitung - East Coast National Scenic Area - Hualien - Yilan

After breakfast, continue your journey along Taiwan’s scenic east coast, known for its untouched natural beauty. Visit Xiaoyehliu, famous for its unique rock formations, and Sanxiantai, a coastal landmark with a striking bridge to an offshore island. Stop at Shitiping, where sea erosion has sculpted dramatic cliffs and rock terraces, creating a natural geology classroom. Your day ends with a comfortable one-way train ride from Hualien to Yilan, offering more stunning coastal views along the way.

Day 05 - Yilan - Taipei
