Information on Lufthansa flights to the Middle East
Tuesday, 10th March 2026
Due to the current situation in the Middle East and the associated massive restrictions on air traffic, the airlines of the Lufthansa Group will
- suspend flights to and from Dubai and Abu Dhabi until March 15
- suspend flights to and from Dammam until March 15
- suspend flights to and from Tel Aviv until April 2
At the end of last week, it was decided that Lufthansa Group airlines would
- suspend flights to and from Amman and Erbil until March 15
- suspend flights to and from Beirut until March 28
- suspend flights to and from Tehran until April 30
Scheduled flights to and from Riyadh (Lufthansa, ITA Airways) and Jeddah (Eurowings) will continue.
Guests due to travel are advised to:
- Check their flight status at Lufthansa.com before travelling to the airport
- Ensure their contact details are up to date in their booking
- Passengers on all affected Lufthansa Group flights to the above-mentioned destinations, whose flights have already been cancelled, may request a full refund at Help Center | Lufthansa or through their travel agent or a rebooking on any later LHG operated flight. - Guests holding LHG tickets to TLV, AMM, EBL, DMM, AUH und DXB issued on or before March 1, 2026, that have not been cancelled yet with original travel dates betwenn16 March 2026 and 26 March 2026, may refund their ticket. (Help & Contact | Lufthansa | Lufthansa)
- Guests who booked through a travel agent should contact their agent directly

Information on Lufthansa flights to the Middle East
Wednesday, 4th March 2026
Lufthansa plans to operate a flight from Muscat (Oman) to Frankfurt on behalf of the German government on the night of March 4 to 5 to fly German citizens from the region to Germany. An Airbus A340-300 long-haul aircraft will be used. As this flight is being operated on behalf of the German government, it is not possible to make a regular booking through Lufthansa. German citizens currently in the region can register on the crisis prevention list of the Federal Foreign Office (ELEFAND).
Due to the current situation in the Middle East, Lufthansa Group airlines will suspend flights to Tel Aviv, Beirut, Amman, Erbil, and Tehran until March 8.
The following airspaces will also not be used until March 8: Israel, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain Dammam and Iran.
In addition, Lufthansa Group airlines will suspend flights to and from Dubai and Abu Dhabi until March 6. Furthermore, the airspace of the United Arab Emirates will not be used until March 6.
In addition, Lufthansa Group airlines will initially suspend all flights to and from Larnaca (Cyprus) up until and including March 6 and will not be using the country’s airspace.
