Effective 1 January 2026, Malaysia Airlines will roll out major updates to its Enrich loyalty programme. These changes are designed to reward frequent flyer travellers, long distance travellers, and choose premium cabins - while also streamlining how members earn and use their benefits. Here’s what you should know, and how it could shape your travel plans in the year ahead. Key Changes Coming in 2026 More rewards for frequent travellers: Enrich Points multipliers are increasing for Silver, Gold, and Platinum members when flying with Malaysia Airlines or Firefly. Better Elite Points for long-haul and premium travel: Members flying Business or Business Suite cabins (especially on mid-to-long haul routes) will now earn Elite Points at a higher rate, making it easier to maintain or upgrade tier status. Updated tier thresholds: From 2027 onwards, you will need more Elite Points to reach or retain your tier: Silver (35), Gold (70), and Platinum (140). Refreshed benefits: Silver members will enjoy an additional 10kg baggage allowance and priority baggage service, while companion cards will now go digital via the Enrich app. Platinum Companion lounge access, however, will see tighter restrictions. Transition assurance: Your current tier and points remain valid until expiry. The new rules only apply to flights taken from 1 January 2026 onwards. What this means for Travellers Frequent Flyers and Business Travellers Good news if you travel often or prefer premium cabins, you will earn more points and Elite Points per trip, helping you reach higher tiers faster. The updates place more emphasis on long-haul and business travel, rewarding those who invest in comfort and loyalty. Occasional and Leisure Travellers Even if you fly occasionally or mostly on short-haul routes, the higher Enrich Points multipliers still give better value for every Ringgit spent.
